View Nepal Treks offers an adventure of life time experience to hardy climbers, mountaineers and adventurer on world highest Mt. Everest, where you will atop and standing at 8,848 m / 29,028 ft high.

Certainly an overloaded adventure with full of challenge, experiencing physical, mental and your skill in the art of mountaineering sports on this classic climb to Mt. Everest with expert guidance of View Nepal Trek staff and veteran guides.

Since early as 1950’s many mountaineer tried to climb this world highest mountain from both side, in 1953 was the big year when British Expeditions led by Sir John Hunt Expeditions acclaimed fame with legendry and late Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, the first two stand on top of world high Mt. Everest, from then other mountaineers followed suit.

From South Col of Everest, much safer climbing than from North Face, the climb from Nepal South Side is totally different, demanding a lifetime experience.

Climbing Mt. Everest with View Nepal Treks will be the safest and enjoyable adventures, as we provide expert logistic support throughout the climb with full safety measure accompanied by veteran climbing guides who have climbed Everest several times including other high mountains.

Starting with scenic flight to Lukla and walking into interesting Sherpa village of Buddhist culture in the harmony of high mountains and nature, walk leads through lovely rhododendron, magnolia, firs and pine forest and then much higher into windswept landscapes of rocks, moraines and glaciers at Everest base camp.

After a successful ascent of world highest peak, then retracing back to Lukla for the flight to Kathmandu with memorable experience and adventure on top Mt. Everest.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03 – 04: Full preparation for Everest Expeditions.
Day 05: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
Day 08: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m – 05hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m – 05hrs.
Day 10: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.
Day 11: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m and continue to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m – 04 hrs.
Day 13: At base camp acclimatization and preparations.
Day 14 – 38: (25 days) Ascent of Mount Everest and withdrawal to Base Camp.
Day 39: All team-members to re reach at Base Camp for final re-grouping.
Day 40: Cleaning up the base camp and packing for return journey.
Day 41: Trek to Pheriche 4,240m – 05 hrs.
Day 42: Trek to Namche Bazaar – 06 hrs.
Day 43: Trek to Lukla – 06 hrs.
Day 44: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 45 – 46: In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.
Day 47: International departure homeward bound.

  • Emergency evacuation by any means of transportation including Heli services and personal medical kit.
  • Early return from the trip due to personal / medical problem in this case clients should bear his / her own expenses on return from trek and in Kathmandu including expenses of accompanying guide / porters.
  • Camping and other services above Base camp.

Everest South Col Expedition Detail Itinerary

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, received by View Nepal Treks staff with warm welcome and transfer to respective hotels with briefing regarding Everest trek, hotels, lodge on route with do and don’ts with evening group welcome dinner.

In Kathmandu with optional sightseeing around places of places of interest, as Kathmandu valley steeped with historical monuments all listed as World Heritage Sites, an opportunity to gain knowledge of Nepali cultures and traditions.

These two days you will be fully engrossed with Everest Expeditions programs and activities with final briefing and orientation for the trek and climb and knowing each member of the team including guides and other staff.

We have reserved two days to provide enough time for packing and buying extra gears or shopping for the expeditions. View Nepal office and field staff along with leader of the team will use this day to obtain permits and necessary documentation for the climb to Mt. Everest expeditions.

Mornings, flight to Lukla with views of mountain range, after 30 mins of great flight reaching Lukla, with short break trek towards Phakding village for overnight stop through farm villages, a moderate walk with few short ups overlooking beautiful scenery along the route to Phakding located by Dudh Kosi river.

After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

A perfect place for rest day for proper acclimatization before heading higher area, morning a short hike to Everest View Hotel or walk up on top a hill of Namche for views of Everest, Amadablam and adjoining peaks, visit the museum.

From Namche on gradual scenic path with downhill to Imjatse river at Phunge-Tenga for lunch, and then uphill through rhododendron, pines, firs tree forest with views of snowcapped peaks.

On reaching Thyangboche visit famous Buddhist monastery with magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam.

Morning downhill walk for few hours over Imjatse River, after the bridge walk on an open country where tree lines fades for few short juniper and dwarf rhododendron bushes, uphill for a while to reach at Pangboche village at 3,900 meters. Last permanent village before Dingboche and beyond, from here a slow climb to Somara for lunch and continue walk with climb to Dingboche village for overnight stop, located in Imjatse valley with panorama of mountains.

Another rest day for proper acclimatization, a short hike to Nakarjung hills for best views of Mt. Makalu and other adjoining.

After a great rest at Dingboche morning walk with steep climb for an hour commanding excellent views, and then on gentle trail to Thugla for lunch where Khumbu glacier melts into a raging river, here trail from Pheriche joins after a break a steep climb for an hour to Thulga pass, with stone memorials of unfortunate climbers who died climbing Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains. From here a nice pleasant walk brings to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Morning walk for few hours with short steep climb over glacier and moraine, reaching at Gorakshep, beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar, here with short rest then climb on top of Kalapathar.

This will be a good exercise along with high altitude acclimatization at 5,545 meters high on top Kalapathar with incredible views of surrounding high mountains with Mt. Pumori ahead and Everest at close distance.

After enjoying the views head down to Gorakshep and continues walk towards Everest Base Camp, at base camp enjoy the view of notorious Kuhmbu Ice Fall and glaciers. At base camp rest and acclimatization after lunch and short walks wih overnight on world highest spot with camping facilities.

Today after gathering all climbing gears from the porters and Yaks busy sorting out the equipments and planning with few practices before the final event to the top of world number one peak.

Start preparation for the climb to the summit encountering great technical effort through massive tumbling boulders of Khumbu Ice Falls it will be an incredible experience.

From Everest base camp which is at 5,364m. expedition from South is technically difficult encountering Khumbu Ice-fall, all these route will be taken care by our climbing guides and staff in keeping the route safe with necessary secure measure taken, from here needs positive attitude with physical and mental effort to attempts this climbing adventure.

Most of the expeditions sets 4-5 camps before the summit bid, however with our climbing days for 25 days we will using at least 4 or 5 camp to reach the top of Everest. The last camp will be at South Col ridge which connect to Lhotse peak also.

The final climb leads to cross last section on Hillary step to reach the top summit. The Hillary step a technical section of this climb beside Khumbu Ice Falls, climbing from South Col route is technically straightforward than the North Col (Tibet side), except for Khumbu Ice falls.

During 2 weeks or more one can start loading and carrying gears to Camp I and Camp II, in the Western Cwm. Once everyone is well acclimatized, Camp I will be mostly by-passed en-route for Camp II, which will become an Advance Base Camp. The route to this point will involve crossing the crevasses on ladders, jumaring up serac walls and a long tedious plod-up the Western Cwm.

Camp III will be half way up near Lhotse Face at 7,400 meters high, from here a long rising traverse across the snow slopes, a yellow band of rock and the Geneva Spur, leads to the South Col and Camp IV.
As per favorable weather conditions follow our lead guide and leaders to the summit on top of the world at 8,848m (29,028 ft.). Some have measured as 8,850 m high but not yet confirmed.

After a mind-blowing experience of life time adventure feeling high on top of the world descend back safely towards base camp using few camps on route downhill.

This day all climbing party and member including guide and staff should have reached at base camp on this day, to assist packing equipments and checking each member health condition after the great classic climb.

Start packing the climbing gears and disposing garbage in proper sites, where SPPC (Sagarmatha Pollution Control) will check the camp and depositing the litter to take away from the base camp to disposal sites or back to Kathmandu.

Morning after a successful ascent of world highest Mt. Everest, after a great moment return to Gorakshep and continue walk to Thugla, and then downhill to Pheriche windy valley after a nice pleasant day reaching at Pheriche for overnight stop.

Return journey is much easier losing heights every hours, walking downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then to the bridge with two 2 hours climb to Thyangboche, after a short break descend to Imjatse River, with steep climb for an hour to Sanasa, from here on gradual path with short ups and downs to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop.

Morning walk back to Dudh Kosi river valley and to Monjo and then reaching at Phakding from here a pleasant last day trek to Lukla on reaching Lukla celebrate last night dinner with fellow climbers and staff.

From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu with views of mountains, at Kathmandu domestic airport our staff transfers you back to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.

A spare day in Kathmandu in case of flight delay and cancellation due to unfavorable bad weather which might occur, as the Himalayan weather can be unpredictable sometimes if all goes well have a free day or sightseeing tour of Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur.

We have allowed two days after Lukla for reserve day and as well to submit expeditions report to concern Nepal Government Department regarding the climb and activities of the expeditions.

Today, your last day in amazing Nepal with great experience and fond memories of Mt. Everest Expeditions, as per your time for international flight, View Nepal staff transfer you to airport for your final departure homeward bound or to your next destinations.
