Ganesh Himal Trekking Detail Itinerary

On reaching Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, received by our staff and then transfer you respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed from the jet lag, View Nepal guide / leader will brief on Ganesh Himal Trek including hotels, lodge on route with evening welcome dinner in a nice Nepalese environment.

Starting this wonderful journey to Ganesh Himal area with morning drive on the main road for few hours, and then over Trisuli River to reach at Dhading Besi, a hill town, from here on the dirt / rough road to our overnight stop at Arughat bazaar, in the comfort of local lodge with afternoon free to explore the villages at Arughat (which was badly destroyed in 25th April / 12th May 2015 earthquakes)

Our first day walk begins on gradual trail all the way to Arkhet village at 1,200 m high, a nice farm village, and then cross the raging Buri Gandaki River which flows from the glacier of Manaslu / Ganesh Himal. Our route follows to Dhading area at Manbu village with short uphill walk with bends walking for two hours.

Walk passes Bahun gaon with climb to Manbu village for overnight stop offers great view of Himal Chuli, Boudha Himal.

From Manbu walk to Dhunchet on a nice trail for 2 hrs and then climb past many smaller villages and forested area with uphill for an hour to Dhunchet for lunch.

Our journey continues with a climb for an hour to Lama dhunga for overnight camp.

After Lama Dhunga, walking into forested area on leaving villages to cross a small streams with gradual walk for two hours leading to climb reaching Nuaban Kharka with views of Himal Chuli and Boudha Himal of Manaslu mountain range.

Morning walk starts crossing over Nuaban Bhanjyang for an hour with views of snowcapped peaks, and then heading downhill to Khading after walk of 3 hours overlooking Ganesh Himal peaks G III and G IV. After Khading walk for an hour then descend to Yarsa for overnight camp.

From this small village with splendid views of mountains, walk for an hour on steep uphill to Kupchet and then descend to Lapche, crossing a small stream reaching at Kapor Gaon.

After a nice stop our walk continues to Timila school premises a close distance from Tirigagoan village for overnight camp.

After this village, morning walk follows to Tirigaon which is about two hours of moderate walk passing a place with Tatopani ‘hot spring’. Here a pleasant stop to enjoy the hot spring.

With refreshing break walk continues on winding road for an hour to Dudari Khola and then climb high up to Chalisa for overnight camp, offering grand vista of landscapes with snow capped mountains.

Morning with time visiting an old monastery, and then walk downhill to Tipling River valley gorge, and over a bridge with steep uphill to Tipling for two hours climb till Marmelung Kharka is reached for overnight stop.

After a great time at Marmelung Kharka, morning walk leads climb on forested ridge to Pansang Bhanjyang and a pass at 3,850 meters high.

The ridge top offers spectacular panorama of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and as far to Annapurna at Pangsang la for lunch and overnight stop along with wonderful views.

A rest day on this lovely area with super panorama of mountains, take a hike and explore the hidden Ganesh Himal areas, chances of seeing some wild life as well.

After a grand time at Pansang Bhanjyang, our walk continues heading to Langtang area descending for long hours of near three hours to reach Somdang.

Somadang, a large Tamang farming village, from here walk on the main road for a while and then a short climb to next village at Gatlang for overnight stop, here with home stay accommodation facilities.

After a wonderful time in Gatlang a large Tamang village located on route to Ganesh Himal and on route Tibet border. From walk to Chilime River, this river fed from the source of Ganesh and Langtang Himal glaciers.

Walk and climb on gradual uphill passing several farm villages reaching at Chilime, this place with new hydro project for electricity power for Langtang and Ganesh villages and as far to Kathmandu city.

After lunch, explore the local villages with views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal.

Our last day on the high hills of central Himalaya region of Ganesh and Langtang mountains, morning from Chilime drive to Kathmandu, an interesting drive passing Syabrubesi village and with a climb to Dhunche town.

The headquarter town of Rasuwa and Langtang area and also a entry point of Langtang National Park, from here drive on a winding downhill all the way to Trisuli Bazaar unto Kathmandu.

A free or leisure day in Kathmandu for own individual activities and souvenirs shopping, for interested people one can book for sightseeing tours around Kathmandu-Bhaktapur and Patan cities at places of interest, as Nepal is steeped with historical and World Heritage Sites.

Last day in Nepal with wonderful experience around Ganesh Himal trekking, as per your flight time View Nepal Treks staff transfer you to airport for your final departure homeward bound or to your next destinations.

Frequently Asked Questions

This journey starts with moderate walk uphill and downhill, includes few gradual path involves high altitude above from 2,000 m to 3,800 meters high, as altitude wise it is one of the safest trek without the problem of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).
This trek leads from warm sub-tropical climate to cooler temperatures as the walk progress above 2,000 meters, with mild alpine climate with morning and night time cooler but the day is bright and sunny sometimes the afternoon can get windy with wind-chill factor. Can be cold as season wise, autumn and winter months can get cold above 3,000 m with strong UV. In spring and summer above ,3000 m with 15°-18° C average and minimum of 0° to 5° C, autumn / winter day time 15°-16° C and can get below -5° C during morn / night time.
One of the safest trekking despite high mountains, chance of altitude getting AMS is bare minimum, starting with slow moderate walk. If some people get sick with other problem or diarrhea which is normal due to change of foods, air and environment, we do carry medical kit on every trek as our guide have enough medical experience, they will advice what is best and in case of serious illness and accidents, emergency evacuation is necessary by any means of transport including helicopter service to reach nearest hospital.
Normally Satellite and local Cell phone works, when deep gorge and valley like in the river valley and forested area, it won’t work properly, in case if your cell does not work there are few villages with facilities of Landlines (STD /ISTD) available along every lodge on route (after Arughat and around Ganesh Himal area till Gatlang village no phones available).
On leaving Kathmandu starting from Arughat for overnight, the lodges are simple with rooms to accommodate 2 people in a room, however if one requires private / single room can be arranged at extra cost. The rooms in most places are simple and basic but nice, cozy with warm dining rooms, hot / cold shower available in some lodges with clean toilet facilities. On this trek to Ganesh Himal we will be camping for many days from Arughat till Gatlang village our camping facilities includes separate unit of kitchen unit of cook-kitchen staff along with guide and porters to accompany you. Foods varies to seasonal vegetables, it is better to stick with vegetarian meals rather than fresh meat products for safe and hygiene wise this is way avoids medical problem on trek, however eggs items are ok. Breakfast of cereal, porridge, corn flakes with milk, eggs (variation as per your choice) and toast, Tibetan bread, pancakes. Lunch simple bread with mild vegetable curry and salad with seasonal fruits, dinner Nepali Dal-Bhat (boiled rice-lintel soup with vegetable) Chinese Fried veg / egg noodles, pasta, Indian Pilau rice, chappati (bread) for birthday and anniversary please let us know in advance so that we can order the lodge to bake cakes on special request.
