View Nepal Treks offers an adventure and combination of social and volunteer work around rural farm village in Mid West Nepal with trekking on world highest trail to Everest base camp. A delightful and enjoyable trip with memorable experience in our Everest Base Camp Volunteer Services programs where you will have the best of Nepal adventure with your help and support around the local farm villages.

View Nepal Treks have set this program for interested people who would like to visit for adventure holiday and as well lending hand and support around effected villages from 29th April and 12th May 2016 earthquake which shook Mid West / East Nepal.

Everest Base Camp  Volunteer Services program starts first with scenic flight to Lukla to reach Lukla, from here walking into interesting Sherpa village of Buddhist culture with views of high mountains.

Walk leads into lovely forest of rhododendron, magnolia, firs and pine trees, much higher into windswept landscapes of rocks, moraines and glaciers.

Trekking past Namche and Dingboche with acclimatization days and visit of Thyangboche monastery heading higher terrain into ice, moraine and glacier at Everest Base Camp with super views and retracing back to Lukla for the flight to Kathmandu, to start our another interesting activities around Mid West Nepal for volunteer work for few days with much help and support rebuilding the damage villages and bringing back the smile of local people.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 05 hrs.
Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
Day 05: Trek to Khunde / Khumjung village 3, 730m- 04 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m - 05hrs.
Day 09: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.
Day 10: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 05 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and walk to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m.
Day 12: Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Pangboche 3,900 m - 06 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Lukla through Monjo and Phakding - 06 hrs.
Day 15: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 16: Drive to Dhading for volunteer work.
Day 17-18: At Dhading rebuilding villages and schools.
Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 20: International departure homeward bound.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, received by View Nepal Treks staff with warm welcome and transfer to respective hotels with briefing regarding Everest base camp & Volunteer service program includes information of hotels, lodge and local culture on route trek with evening welcome dinner.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

Free day in Kathmandu with optional sightseeing tour (if not included in booking) Kathmandu valley steeped with historical and cultural monuments of temples, Stupas, monasteries and old kings palace with courtyard, where all these important places are added as world heritage sites. After an interesting tour with free afternoon preparation for trek to Everest base camp and volunteer work around Dhading.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.

Mornings, flight to Lukla with views of mountain range, after 30 mins of great flight reaching Lukla, with short break trek towards Phakding village for overnight stop through farm villages, a moderate walk with few short ups overlooking beautiful scenery along the route to Phakding located by Dudh Kosi river.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 05 hrs.

After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.

A perfect place for rest day for proper acclimatization before heading higher area, morning a short hike to Everest View Hotel or walk up on top a hill of Namche for views of Everest, Amadablam and adjoining peaks, visit the museum.

Day 05: Trek to Khunde / Khumjung village 3, 730m- 04 hrs.

After a great time at Namche, trace the route above high ridge of Namche to Syangboche with an old small airstrip, above Namche and then walk follows to Khunde and Khumjung the largest Sherpa villages around Khumbu area with superb views of Mt. Kwangde, Thermasherkhu and other peaks with Mt. Everest. Visiting first Khunde village situated in the same glacial valley as Khumjung village beneath holy Mt. Khumbila 5,761m. Here tour of Khunde hospital built by Sir Edmund Hillary’s Foundation. Afternoon visit the Khumjung old Monastery, the only place with a Yeti scalp where visitors can have a glimpse in glass box with some donations, from here check into a nice lodge with rest of the afternoon free and visit Khumjung High School also built by Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation.

Day 07: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05hrs.

From Khumjung on gradual scenic path with downhill to Imjatse river at Phunge-Tenga for lunch, and then uphill through rhododendron, pines, firs tree forest with views of snowcapped peaks. On reaching Thyangboche visit famous Buddhist monastery with magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam.

Day 08: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m - 05hrs.

Morning downhill walk for few hours over Imjatse River, after the bridge walk on an open country where tree lines fades for few short juniper and dwarf rhododendron bushes, uphill for a while to reach at Pangboche village at 3,900 meters. Last permanent village before Dingboche and beyond, from here a slow climb to Somara for lunch and continue walk with climb to Dingboche village for overnight stop, located in Imjatse valley with panorama of mountains.

Day 09: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.

Another rest day for proper acclimatization, a short hike to Nakarjung hills for best views of Mt. Makalu and other adjoining, here one can take a long hike of 3-4 hrs to Chukung at 4,740 m high with few lodges offering grand views of high mountains looking close Island peak-Nuptse-Lhotse and Lhotse Sar.

Day 10: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 05 hrs.

After a great rest at Dingboche morning walk with steep climb for an hour commanding excellent views, and then on gentle trail to Thugla for lunch where Khumbu glacier melts into a raging river, here trail from Pheriche joins after a break a steep climb for an hour to Thulga pass, with stone memorials of unfortunate climbers who died climbing Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains. From here a nice pleasant walk brings to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Day 11: Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and walk to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m.

Today reaching the highlight of this adventure at Everest Base Camp, starting with short steep climb in between over glacier and moraine, reaching Gorakshep, beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar. After Gorakshep with short rest, continue walk towards Everest Base Camp, at base camp enjoy the view of tumbling Kuhmbu Ice Fall and glaciers, after fulfilling the dreams of lifetime experience retrace the journey back to Goarkshep for overnight stop.

Day 12: Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Pangboche 3,900 m - 06 hrs.

Early morning hike on top Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of the adventure offering incredible views of mountains including Mt. Everest at close distance, after a great moment return to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk to Thugla, and then downhill to Pheriche windy valley. After a nice pleasant lunch stop walk at the end of the valley after crossing a small bridge climb to a ridge and back on the same route downhill to Pangboche for overnight stop.

Day 13: Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs.

Return journey is much easier losing heights every hours walking downhill with an hour more climb from the bridge to Thyangboche, from here descend to Imjatse River, with steep climb for an hour to Sanasa, from here on gradual path with short ups and downs to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop.

Day 14: Trek to Lukla through Monjo and Phakding - 06 hrs.

After a great walk today an enjoyable walk with downhill to Dudh Kosi river valley and to Monjo near National Park entrance, from here our last day trekking continues to Lukla after Phakding villages and with a climb to reach at Lukla. In Lukla with last overnight around Khumbu and Everest area celebrate farewell dinner with fellow trekkers and staff.

Day 15: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu with views of mountains, at Kathmandu domestic airport our staff transfers you back to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 16: Drive to Dhading for volunteer work.

Today our journey leads to Mid West Nepal at Dhading with overland drive on Nepal busiest and main highway, on reaching Trisuli River over the bridge with another few hours reaching at Dhadingbesi the centre of Dhading district. Meet the local people and walk to the volunteer project area and survey the damaged villages with overnight in local home stay or camping.

Day 17-18: At Dhading rebuilding villages and schools.

Around Dhading hills and villages much damaged took place from 2016 April and May earthquake with many death tolls as well. The village life is slowly returning back to normal life and daily activities with some help and support from Government and private sectors. However much work to be done with lack of man-power in rebuilding some of the unfinished work building houses-schools and broken trails. Our guide and head person of the village will inform and brief you of local culture and traditions along with help needed to build most of the houses and walking trails. Start the morning volunteer program helping as much to rebuild the shattered village during 2 days time, its farm houses-schools and broken trails our guide and village head person will lead you to volunteering sites. Starting after breakfast joining hand in hand with the locals laying stones and bricks working for few hours till lunch and then carry on till late afternoon, completing some of the important works for the day. Next day carry on with daily routine in rebuilding places of destruction from houses-schools-path including maintaining water supply to the village.

Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu.

Morning a warm farewell from the village people with gratefulness and thanking you for your immense help and support volunteering for the cause and purpose, on leaving the village you will be glad that your visit to Nepal was worth-while. From Dhading 3-4 hours of interesting drive reaches you back to Kathmandu.

Day 20: International departure homeward bound.

Today, your last day in amazing Nepal with great experience and fond memories of Everest Base Camp trekking and volunteer services, as per your time for international flight, View Nepal staff transfer you to airport for your final departure homeward bound or to your next destinations.
