Morning as per the flight to Lhasa transfer to Kathmandu international airport, during an hour airborne mind-blowing views of world’s highest mountains with Mount Everest at its closest, this super flight touches down at Gongar Airport which is just an hour drive to Lhasa city. At Gongor airport well received by our Tibetan guide and drivers for pleasant drive into heart of Lhasa city. Afternoon relax at this high altitude of 3,650 m and take a short walk around Barkhor market square where hotels are located.

Morning a nice drive to Ganden Monastery area, a distance of 45 k.m. towards east of Lhasa, on leaving the main road heading uphill as Ganden monastery located 18 k.m from main highway, on reaching the top sacred ridge of Wangku Ri at Ganden area.
Ganden a foremost monastery of Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism (Yellow Hat),
all Great Six monasteries (Ganden, Sera, Drepung,Tashilumpo, Labrang, Kumbum) are of Yellow Sects, none suffered as disastrously as Ganden during Cultural Revolution when artillery and vast quantities of dynamite where deployed, at present built into its original form after much destruction.
In early time over 2,000 monks lived here; now there are hardly 300 monks, after a nice and interesting tour of Ganden drive back to Lhasa.
After Ganden drive due north through Baka-area and reaching a junction at Largaan Do, the drive continues towards the Largaen-La at 5,180m is a half an hour climb from the last bridge Namtso lies to the north of Lagan-la, looking like a deep blue iceberg.
Nam-Tsho, beautiful Lake of huge body of water, the town of Nam Tsho Qu is on the plains to the right east of the lake Nam-Tsho's 113 k.m length regarded as salt lake.
After a pleasant time at Namtsho holy Lake and visit of Ganden Monastery area, morning drive back to Lhasa on passing farm villages and towns following the Kyuchi (Lhasa) River for some time to reach back at Lhasa.
Morning drive to outskirt of Lhasa and then another 100 k.m. drive reaching at the shore of Yarlung Tsangpo (Bhramputra River). From here we take a ferry across the river to Samye Monastery area.
Samye Monastery, the first monastery established in Tibet, located on the north bank of Yarlung Tsangpo River, south east of Lhasa.
It was constructed by Padmasambhava (Guru Ringboche) and Santarakshita between A.D. 763 and 775 in the reign of King Dristen Detsen. The Samye monastery was modeled on University of Odantapuri in India and was made on a plan representing the mount Sumeru (Rirab) which is considered the axis of universe.
After Samye continue drive to Gyantse city, leading over Khamba-la 4,800m with great views of Tibetan landscapes, then towards Yamdrok Tshso “The Torquoise Lake” and drive over Karo-La at 5,050m with views of Nazong-Khangtsa peak, after a great drive of five hours reaching at Gyantse for overnight stop, afternoon tour of Phalkor Monastery, Kumbum Stupa and the local market.
From Gyantse a short drive of few hour to Tibet’s 2nd biggest city after Lhasa, and in Shigatse tour of Tashilumpo monastery. Traditional seat of Panchen Lama (2nd high order after Dalai Lama) this monastery contains a 27m high gold plated Buddha known as Mytaria (the future Buddha). The hotel in Shigtase is quite large and comfortable, afternoon visit the local interesting market.
After a great time visiting most of Tibetan cities and monasteries with superb landscapes and snowcapped peaks scenery, morning drive back to Lhasa following Yarlung Tsangpa or Bhramaputra River most of the way to Lhasa. On reaching Lhasa afternoon free for own individual activities and shopping souvenirs.
